I started reinstalling in 2009 and finished the year with 3514 reinstalls. As of 19.11.2014, the weapon has been reloaded 14,830 times, all 200 and 230 gr. loads. Most were 230 g. loads, but some interesting statistics have been produced. I put in about 454lbs of lead G30 split in half between the two loads. I went through six sets of recoil springs, three slide stops, and at least 8 pounds of smokeless powder. In summary, I know a few things about the G30.

With the G30, you'd better dress around the gun, because it definitely won't tolerate polo shirts and pants that suit you. This is the type of gun that requires a 1 inch larger pant waist size and high quality leather to provide adequate back support.

However, let me tell you a little bit about my transportation system. The Galco Royal Guard IWB in horsehide was my first and only G30 holster. It has been nothing short of perfect and I would definitely buy and purchase additional Glaco holsters for other guns. My magazine bag is a Gould & Goodrich 851 double magazine belt slide holder. The leather has a nice sheen after years of wear, and its durability is on par with Galco. We finally have a gun belt. Mine is a 1.75 inch belt custom ordered from Thebeltman.net. A G30 with two extra magazines will traumatize your body if done wrong. There are belts and then there are gun belts. If you want to carry it every day, buy a gun belt from Thebeltman.net. I'm maybe three years old and my back is fine.

Go back to the gun. As you can see from the photos, my G30 is completely finished. The only change/upgrade I made was the Storm Lake aftermarket barrel. Since most of my reloading is lead, I wanted to use standard rifles to eliminate any potential hazards, including the danger of polygonal rifling from lead bullets. And this was after contamination with 140 loads of lead. The troublesome factory ammo was the Remington 230gr. JHP (L45AP7). This suggests that any weapon can fail if the ammunition and environmental conditions are less than ideal.

But some of the 15,000 failures aren't all that bad. The Glock 30SF is the most tested and rated gun I have ever made or will ever make for that matter. While it's not the best carry gun, I'm used to the weight and like how it shoots. Thirty rounds are 230gr. The JHP Golden Sabers are also not deterred by my immediate command. And if I stop packing 30, I'm unlikely to ever stop fooling around with it. Some defensive handguns are also suitable as a firearm for pleasure.
